Why donate?

Six reasons…  Three questions…

1.  In 2002, former U.S. Senator Mike Gravel snookered People's Lobby Inc. out of $450,000+.  On the promissory notes that he created, Sen. Gravel has made $00.00 in loan repayments.  He has rebuffed our requests to make even minimal monthly loan repayments.  If you know a Virginia licensed contingent fee attorney, please put us in touch with him/her so that we can recoup some of People's Lobby's loaned money.

2.  If this shrewd political operative had not taken People's Lobby's money or had paid back some of what he borrowed, our outreach, fund raising, and public education on the American World Service Corps Congressional Proposals (AWSC) and Fair Tax Bracket Reinstitution Act (FTBRA) proposals would be on every visionary Congresspersons’ agenda.

3.  Had our rendition of the AWSC been fielded during the Kennedy administration, we would have had the correct army to stem the phony fear of falling dominoes, our ravenous appetite for imported oil, our habit of undertaking bloody wars rather than peacefully and productively marching our best and brightest into a war on poverty, climate change, low educational standards, hatreds, etc…  And our nation would not be developing the skill killing habits of depression era gangs among our increasingly unemployed.

4.  If you were an adult, parent, or grandparent, your assets would not have been decimated by 30-40%, because had we fielded an AWSC and continued the Eisenhower/Kennedy tax brackets, we would not have burned $500 billion in Vietnam and 3+ trillion dollars in Iraq and allowed the top 1% to grow astronomically in wealth, while the middle class shrunk.

5.  If you care about future generations, why not consider contributing time, energy, contacts, and/or money to PLI or PLEF?  If PLI and PLEF’s present initiatives are enacted, they will be among the most significant legislation to come out of our too-specially connected Congress in a very long time.

6.  America is no longer the shining beacon on the hill.  It is not Camelot.  It no longer sets the industrial, educational, and civic standard for the world.  It no longer proudly presents a booming and growing middle-class for the world to emulate.  America has a shrinking window of opportunity in which we can rebuild our character, regain the world's respect, rebuild our communities, and helped rather than harm the world's soaring population and shrinking resources.  The Koupal's created a People’s Lobby to produce legislative and other solutions to problems people gripe and talk about.  It was not created to elect a few hoped for white knight or garner 20 more people to protest.  But as its name suggests, People's Lobby needs people to educate, lobby, and work to create legislative and other solutions to problems that plague Californians, Americans, and world.

Three civically entangled questions.

  1. Why do voters trust the Congressional system of elections that allows a small percentageage of the civically dedicated to win and then having that small platoon further reduced by subscribing to the beltway system of quietude, go-along, or corruption?
  2. Why do citizens, who express disdain for this Congressional system, still believe that representatives know so much more about law making that they, the citizens, fear creating and presenting to Congress the laws the nation needs?
  3. Why do citizens continue pouring resources into hopefully electing a few who are then buried in the special interest layered Congressional quagmire, without pouring some of those resources into MAKING CITIZEN-INITIATED LAWS that can steer the nation back to health?

Any chance you can shift some time from your comfortable times to helping push forward Peoples Lobby’s efforts that will help ensure tomorrow’s generations have some decent , peaceful, productive times?
